Newsletter - January 2020

Welcome to the January 2020 Citywatch CCTV Northern Ireland Newsletter

Citywatch NI - CCTVWho are we?
Citywatch CCTV Northern Ireland provides CCTV monitoring in dedicated areas across Northern Ireland and a radiolink
monitoring facility for retailers and businesses.

What do we do?
Citywatch provides cctv to dedicated areas in Lisburn, Hillsborough, Moira, Newcastle, Ballynahinch and Downpatrick.
Citywatch work in partnership with PSNI to deter and detect crime and anti social behaviour.
The dedicated radiolink service allows busi-nesses to contact Citywatch directly who have direct radio contact with PSNI.

What are the benefits?
Membership of Citywatch provides peace of mind to members, who benefit from a direct line of contact when needed. When an incident takes place Citywatch members contact Citywatch via radiolink, CCTV Operators can then detect individuals concerned and monitor until Police assistance arrives.

Citywatch Statistics - October 2019 - 31st December 2019

  • Citywatch CCTV Operators dealt with 1135 Incidents
  • Citywatch members reported 78 theft incidents over Radiolink to CCTV Operators which resulted in £1,138 worth of stolen goods being recovered for retailers
  • Citywatch CCTV Operators detected 232 incidents in total - Including making 12 drug detections
  • Police requested Citywatch assistance with 565 incidents
  • Citywatch CCTV Operators have assisted Police in searching for 143 persons who were reported missing or as a concern for safety
  • Citywatch CCTV Operators detected 48, and dealt with 204, anti-social behaviour incidents

We are always looking for new members to expand our Citywatch network.
If any businesses in the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council area would like to join the Citywatch scheme please contact us.

Keep spreading the word about this great crime prevention partnership.
We aim to have all businesses in our area join Citywatch by the end of 2020.
